How it works

  • Breathing exercises produce physiological changes inside the body, including reduced carbon dioxide in the blood and a change in the acid-base balance in the blood.
  • These exercises can activate your parasympathetic nervous system and vagal nerve signaling, which can reduce inflammation in the body and improve joint pain, headache and brain fog.
  • Helps release the traumas associated with Long Covid, that can manifest as stress, anxiety and tension in the body.
  • Hypoxia and micro-clots appear to play an important role in Long Covid, and breathing could help to better oxygenate the body’s organs and tissues.

Safety Information

  • Be careful with this protocol! In its full form, Wim Hof breathing can be too stimulating and cause Post-Exertional Malaise in some people. Start with a short, light session to see how you respond first.
  • If you struggle with rising heart rate, this might not be the right protocol for you.
